Your Kids supporting West ham
What is your take on this

Just had a full blown row with the ex missus regarding this.
My boy called Bobby has been West ham ever since he popped out, West ham bloody everything.
I've taken him to many games and he's loved it, it's allowed me to bond with my boy on the days off I get and it brought us so close together with considering I don't live with him.
Her bloke on the scene supporting the Gooners now all of a sudden Bobby does too.
An I over reacting by being hurt that my son is no apparently no longer West ham, she tries telling me there's no influence from the fella on my boy. Doesn't take a fucking Einstein to work it out though.
Do your kids support the hammers and if they don't how do you deal with it, my boy is 9.

you either have the glory hunting gene or dont. your boy has to make his own mind up. I was born just a short walk from the old ground, and grew up in the area but didn't care what we won. I just wanted them to try in every game and that was enough. the way the media caters towards a certain limited amount of clubs, it's amazing that a club like ours still attracts so many fans, considering the lack of ambition shown by the shit that have owned us since it's inception

Where does your kid live with regards to area?

My dad supports Sunderland being from THE NORTH. We were born in London and he desperately tried to get us to support Sunderland but my mum called it child cruelty so we ended up having an ever so slightly better deal supporting WHUFC.

If your lad lives in the NORTH LONDON area then it could have be miles worse.

Look on the bright side, it could have been Spurs

My kids are West Ham through no choice of their own. My son had a wobble about 3 or 4 years back where pressure from his Chelsea mates got to him and I was absolutely gutted. Within a few days he'd seen sense but it could easily have happened where he turned round and said he was going to support them instead.

I'd be fuming if I was in your position.

My eldest supports QPR for some reason? I took him to 2 home games against Wigan and Portsmouth when he was at an impressionable age and we failed to score in either game so that was that.

My 17 year old though is a passionate Hammer! He will get everything when I die 😄😄

My two aren't really bothered with football but if pressed they would say they are West Ham.fans as both their dad and me are.
That bond is there, you are his dad, whatever club he supports, her bloke won't change that.
Maybe you can find a different thing to do together, find a type if film you both like watching or go fishing

Good luck and happy new year.

Steve

Its not on. I would knock the new fella out if I was you.

Show your son what West Ham is being out.

On a serious note, that is a horrible situation. I would definitely have a word with the bloke and set things straight.

My daughter was not in to football, but started going out with an Arsehole fan and remained an Arsenal fan even after she dumped him.

When she was seriously ill, that Bob Wilson organisation arreanged for her to go to a game at the Emirates v Reading. She was given a box and could take four of us. Her condition deteriorated and she was unable to go.A few days later she got a huge card signed by the entireArsenal squad and management. She was so pleased with this gesture, but.
about a week later she died.

I never begrudged her supporting Arsenal and at least in her short time she got to experience winning the league.

Steve, I can understand your frustration over your son turning from mid table West Ham to supporting a lower down team flirting with possible relegation.

Shit, sorry to hear that arsene.

Steve, don’t pressure the boy but take him to the games as much as you can (once you’re able) and let him make his own mind up.

Re: Your Kids supporting West ham
My old msn,his Dad and his 5 brothers were all nailed on West Ham. I was born and lived 1.5 miles from Upton Park and the old man took me to my first game as a 4 year old. In short,i had no fucking chance. Bit different these days as therevis so much more exposure of the game and massive focus on the 'big' clubs and most kids like to follow winners.

I never forced it on my kids ,i let them make their choices and it hasnt harmed them. The 3 boys all playvand follow rugby whilevyhe heiress isnt bothered either way. But if asked, they would always say West Ham are their team out of loyalty to me. Which is nice.

Arsene mate,sorry to hear that.

Sorry to hear that, Arsene. RIP.

Both my kids follow West Ham and have been to loads of games, even though we've lived for years surrounded by old-school Chelsea families. They go occasionally to AFC Wimbledon or Fulham if their mates have spare tickets (no one ever has Chelsea spares) but haven't stopped supporting WHU despite all the grief.

Arsene I'm so sorry. Fuck me that's awful. Good on Arsenal though for doing that for her.

Re: Your Kids supporting West ham
Just send him a few clips of Arsenal fan TV, and ask him if he wants to be associated with that embarrassing cunt of a club.

Then tell him in no uncertain terms that he is West Ham and that is the end of it.

May her memories bring you comfort Arsene.

My daughter is a hammer, her teddy she still has is called julian and has travelled the world with her. Being West Ham has prepared her for all the negatives of life, heartbreak, disappointment, let down, faliure etc interspersed with little bits of pure joy, exhilaration and excitement! The last three dont apply to a moyes team bt2

Re: Your Kids supporting West ham
Both my boys support West Ham. Never have either of them thought about supporting another team. They have grown up and now take me to the games. I've showed them where my parents lived in East Ham. The reason they support the team is because it's handed down to them, their grandparents are all from East Ham, even my late wife's mother is from East Ham.

Re: Your Kids supporting West ham
My son and daughter , 20 &18, are West Ham through and through. Passed down the family so I had no choice and neither did they. And they accept how shit it can be but appreciate the joy of the little “victories” along the way.
I admire their dedication, I was lucky enough to see some very good times, taken to my first game in 1972.
My son had a load of Arsenal mates around the age of 6 and had a wobble but luckily my dad was still around then to sort him out!

Sorry for your loss Arsene.
